Review: Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

Comments
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I received a complimentary face masque from Montagne Jeunesse inside my Influenster Holiday VoxBox. I had used their Cucumber Peel Off Face Masque before with good results so I was interested in trying this one out as well.

The masque I received was the Fruit Smoothie Deep Pore Cleansing Masque which is one of their mud masques. Their website states "Pores will be opened allowing impurities and dirt to be drawn out leaving skin deeply cleansed".

Interesting...we'll see how it goes.

Face of the Day: Using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Comments
Yes, I broke down and ordered Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette even when I said I wouldn't. I kept reading that it was a lot better for those with fair skin since the original had a tendency to go a little muddy.

Face of the Day Featuring Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

I'll have a review on the Naked 2 palette sometime. Like all products I like to try them out a bit first. This was the first time I've had a chance to use the palette and so far it has not disappointed.

Review: NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

Comments
As I mentioned in my Holiday VoxBox First Impressions post, when I saw that I received this complementary lipgloss I immediately tried it on and loved it!

NYX Liquid Lipshine is quoted as a "seriously high-drama color at a seriously low price". It states "Pure pigments give a 3-D effect that’s off-the-charts glossy".

The color Nude York City doesn't have a color description other than the name but in reality it's just barely more than a clear gloss.

Influenster Holiday VoxBox First Impressions

Comments
I believe it was Buxom and Beautiful that originally clued me into Influenster. I had never heard of it and went to scope it out.

The website reads: "Registered members "play the game" by unlocking badges that reflect their lifestyle, expertise and power to influence. By earning badges that tell us more about you, Influensters can qualify for VoxBoxes (complimentary packages of products to test & review), rewards (bonus giveaways/discounts) and other special promotions targeted toward our most active and influential members!"

I thought it could be interesting so I signed up and started filling out the questions. Turns out I got selected to receive their Holiday VoxBox so I was pretty psyched.

I was originally going to do my first open box video with this package but my mailman decided to cram the box into my mail slot and my husband had to rip open the box and hand me each item piece by piece so he could eventually get the box out.

Nail of the Day: OPI Speak For Your Elf!

Comments
I love red holiday polishes! Every year I purchase a new one and this year was no exception.

This year I purchased Speak For Your Elf!, part of OPI's Ulta exclusive holiday polishes. It's a cool toned red jelly polish with red micro glitter.

OPI Speak For Your Elf!

The color itself isn't all that unique for being an exclusive color. You can find polishes similar in a lot of other brands but I'm partial to OPI so I went with it.

Face of the Day: Using the NYX Butt Naked Eyes Palette

Comments
This is my first look using the NYX Butt Naked Palette I got on my haul the other day. I plan on doing a full review of it but since I don't review products I haven't used thoroughly I thought I would give it a spin.

Nail of the Day: Wet N Wild It's All In The Cut

Comments
My interest in glitter polishes has slowly been fading since it's such a pain to remove. I remove it using the foil technique but it still takes 5-10 minutes versus a quick swipe for regular polish.

I have been eyeballing the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Ice Baby collection for a while and kept deciding against it since the colors weren't really work appropriate.

I finally caved and bought It's All In the Cut. It's the paler of the two purple colors they offer with a light purple superfine glitter base and a light pink round glitter.

I really liked how it went one. So many glitter polishes take coat after coat to become opaque but this one went opaque in two coats.

December Makeup Monthly Box - First Impressions

Comments
I had gotten discouraged with my Birchboxes and Julep so I wanted to try something new. I was frustrated that I got a bunch of facial beauty samples and quickly lost interest in nail polish. What I wanted were cosmetics to try.

I saw Makeup Monthly and decided to try it out. I'm a little leery of it since it's pretty expensive at $30 a month. Plus, I haven't heard too many people talking about this service.

Makeup Monthly December Box

I was pleasantly surprise when I received four full size products inside my first box. I was also pleased that the majority of them were colors or types of products I would use. I'm especially excited about the lipstick.

Review: Prestige My Biggest Lashes Mascara

Comments
I purchased this mascara sometime last month and have been rotating it on and off with my usual mascara.

I was a little leery or buying the mascara in the first place since it's one of the "cheapy" makeup brands. However, after being disappointed with a name brand mascara I recently spent $27 on I figured what could it hurt.

Misleading Advertising

Comments
Misleading advertising has been a bit of a hot topic in the beauty world lately. It seems more and more advertisers are having to explain the falsehood of their ads as seen in this article about Covergirl and Rimmel.

For some reason it's more of an issue overseas than it is here in the States but I don't understand why. A misleading ad is a misleading ad regardless of where you live.

I ran across something today that rubbed me the wrong way. I purchased the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum because several people recommended it on Beautylish and I needed a liquid liner with a really fine line.

When I got home I started reading the packaging and got bothered by what I saw. The product claims to be both an eyeliner and a lash boosting serum in one. The product states:

Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum

but when you look at the fine print it reads:

November Favorites

Comments
This month I didn't have a tremendous amount to show. I haven't used too much routinely that has just really stood out to me other than the three products I'm showing here. I've been using them all like crazy.

NYX Eyeshadow Prestige My Biggest Lashes Smashbox blush

NYX Eyeshadow in Pure Skin - I've been using this as my base flash tone color almost every day. I'm not sure if you can see how much I've already used it in the picture. It matches my skin tone exactly and blends out harsh lines like nobody's business.

Eye Shadow of the Day: Money

Comments
I had gotten the new Mariposa Palette from Urban Decay (a review will be up on it eventually) and decided to play around with the muted green color.

I rarely wear green eye shadow because it clashes with the green in my eyes but I ended up liking this one. I think it did okay maybe because it's not a true green. It seems to have a lot of brown in it.
