I thought it could be interesting so I signed up and started filling out the questions. Turns out I got selected to receive their Holiday VoxBox so I was pretty psyched.
I was originally going to do my first open box video with this package but my mailman decided to cram the box into my mail slot and my husband had to rip open the box and hand me each item piece by piece so he could eventually get the box out.
I guess I could have filmed that. It certainly may have been a little more interesting!
There are a few beauty related items that I haven't really had a chance to use but I will post a full review on those later. In the meantime, here is a breakdown of what I received and a quick review of the things I have already tried.
The Larabar Chocolate Chip Brownie is described as "A brownie lover's dream come true". As a fellow brownie lover I assure you it is not. It's gluten free and made with all natural ingredients but it just doesn't hold up.
I tried this shortly after taking the picture and was not impressed. In fact, I didn't take more than one bite. It tasted like your typical prepackaged health food bars trying to pass off as a decadent chocolate treat.
If this were a fruit and nut bar I think it certainly may have stood a chance but not as a brownie.
I can never think of Mentos without thinking of their old commercials and slogan - Mentos, The Fresh Maker! Aside from my initial giggle Mentos Chewing Gum is pretty good.
It tastes exactly like the original Mentos breath mints and let me tell you this gum will clear your sinuses! My husband walked into the kitchen right after I had eaten a piece and could smell it as he walked in.
The flavor lasts quite a while but the gum itself gets a little piecey after a good 45 minutes. It's not one to chew for hours on end. It didn't stop me from eating the whole container though.
Also, a word of warning to those sensitive to aspartame (aka Sweet N Low) this gum, like most sugarless gums, contains it. So, heads up.
imPRESS Press On Manicure is suppose to deliver "an instant salon-perfect manicure". I got mine in the design of Chic Mystique.
My only experience with press on nails were those from back in junior high. I remember them popping off badly. I'll give these a run and give you a full review down the road.
Montagne Jeunesse Pore Cleansing Fruit Smoothie in Raspberry and Mango is suppose to leave your skin "fresh, clean and smooth". I have tried one of their masks before but not this particular line. I had good results with my previous one so we will see how this one goes.
My only concern is that with the size of the sample pack that I won't have enough to do my whole face. Maybe I will just do one side and do a before and after comparison on my review.
Softsoap Coconut Scrub Bar Soap is described as being "Enriched with crushed coconut extract and gentle exfoliants to reveal soft, smooth skin". That is does not.
I don't use bar soap for the exact reason I didn't like this soap. It left me with a stripped almost filmy/coated feeling. It's such a shame too as I love, love, love the scent! It's this light tropical scent that's not in the least bit overpowering.
I did catch on their website that they have this product in a body wash instead. I may give that a try if it smells the same. I won't be using the bar soap again.
NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City is said to "give a 3-D effect that’s off-the-charts glossy"
Being a lip gloss junkie as soon as I saw this product I opened it up and tried it one. Love it!
I will have a full review with swatches soon.
That's all I have for you. This ended up being a little bit longer of a post than I planned. I guess that's the way it works sometimes.
Have you signed up for Influenster? What are your thoughts?
